Agents act, LLMs recommend, and people browse. Microsoft Clarity connects all three journeys.

Agents act, LLMs recommend, and people browse.

See what AI agents do on your site, get answers from your data faster, and help customers find you across AI experiences.

In a recent Microsoft Clarity analysis, weekly sessions from AI agents nearly doubled in three weeks to almost 2 million.¹ These agents, like Muse or Dots, were shopping, booking, and filling out forms.

Agents are one part of how the customer journey is changing. Earlier this year, we introduced the concept of winning the three eras of the web: simultaneously serving customers who are browsing your website, asking AI for recommendations, and turning to agents to book or buy for them. Clarity is evolving with these three experiences and today, we’re excited to share new capabilities available globally to all our users:

  1. Agentic Analytics. See what supported² AI agents do on your site and test whether they can complete key tasks.
  1. Brand Agents. Get your products discovered in Microsoft Copilot and Bing, and bring an AI assistant to your website that helps customers find and book services from local businesses.
  1. Ask Clarity. Ask a question about how people use your site and get answers backed by real session evidence.

The agentic web: Understand what AI agents do on your site

Today you can ask an AI agent to book a family cruise for the holidays or reorder your dog’s food every month. That shift from “help me choose” to “do it for me” creates enormous opportunity, but most websites are built for people, not agents. An agent might find the right product but miss a promotion, or reach checkout and get stuck. When that happens, you may lose a customer without ever knowing why.

That is why we are introducing the Agent Activity dashboard in Microsoft Clarity. The dashboard shows how agentic traffic changes over time, which agents visit your site, and what they do once they arrive, ranging from searches and form submissions to logins, downloads, appointment bookings, and checkout.

With simulation assessments, you can test how effectively agents can complete important tasks on your website before a real customer journey fails. Simulations show whether the task was completed, how long it took, how many interactions it required, and where the experience could be improved. We’re starting with commerce and travel scenarios, and plan to expand simulations to more types of customer journeys over time.

The LLM web: Get discovered when customers ask AI for help

When customers ask AI to help them choose, you want your business to be part of the answer. Brand Agents help you show up in Microsoft’s AI experiences and give customers an AI personal shopper when they’re on your website.

Expand product discovery across AI experiences

Brand Agents started as a personal shopping assistant on your website. It’s grounded in your live product catalog, shipping and return policies, and brand voice. Now, businesses that use Brand Agents can extend product discovery beyond their website. For eligible WooCommerce and Shopify merchants, their products can appear across Microsoft Copilot, Bing, MSN, and more when shoppers ask AI for recommendations. Shoppers can discover a product and then complete the purchase on the merchant’s website.

If you already have Brand Agents installed, no additional catalog upload or configuration is required. During setup, you can also choose to offer the Brand Agent experience on your website or just use Brand Agents to help your products show up across AI experiences.

Helping local customers find the right service and take the next step

Along with online retailers, we’re excited to expand Brand Agents to local businesses. This means when potential customers come to your site, Brand Agents can help them understand what you offer, find the service that fits their needs, and take the next step to book. If someone asks, “Can you help me fix a leaking pipe under my kitchen sink?”, the agent can identify the right service and offer to book it.

Brand Agents connect with the booking and scheduling tools many local businesses already use like Square, Jobber, HubSpot, Calendly, Housecall Pro, and Salesforce, so the agent can capture leads and schedule appointments directly. That means fewer missed opportunities after hours and less time your team spends calling customers back.

The human web: Get answers from how people use your site

As visitors arrive from AI assistants and agents, as well as search, social, and ads, the volume of data marketers must interpret multiplies. The challenge is no longer simply getting access to data. It’s connecting those signals, understanding what matters, and determining what to do next.

Now you can ask Clarity a question about your business and it analyzes your unique data much like an analyst would: exploring possible explanations, testing them against the evidence, and identifying what is really happening. It then recommends what to do next and links findings to the relevant session recordings, so you can see the evidence for yourself. Today, the experience is focused primarily on website behavioral analytics, helping marketers make sense of session recordings, heatmaps, funnels, events, and other on-site signals.

Say European shoppers aren’t converting as well as other regions, and you think price is the problem. Clarity can test that assumption against real visitor behavior and uncover something you weren’t looking for, like untranslated pages or a delivery option that only works in one market.

Coming soon, we plan to expand the experience to support additional use cases and data sources, including AI Visibility and advertising data.

Among surveyed early-access users of this new feature, 88% reported discovering something new about their business or website³. Customers consistently highlighted time savings, insights they would not have discovered themselves, and session recordings that provided evidence behind recommendations as key benefits.

“I use this feature to dive deeper into user behavior, especially around new launches. It helped me identify where customers were dropping off in our new product personalization experience and showed that 80.2% of pageviews on our PowerBank landing page ended with no onward click. It would take a long time to uncover these kinds of insights by manually reviewing user recordings.”

Keep up with a changing customer journey

We’re incredibly grateful for how far Clarity has come and for the millions of sites and apps that use it around the world. What started as a way to understand how people use your website is evolving alongside the customer journey itself.

From people browsing the web, to AI helping them research and decide, to agents taking action on their behalf, our mission remains the same: help you understand every customer journey and know what to do next.

As those behaviors continue to change, Clarity will continue to give businesses the visibility and insights they need to understand what’s happening and adapt. The next era of the web is being written, and we’re excited to help you succeed in it.
