[Update] More Data, Better Decisions: Clarity Adds New Google Ads Metrics

If you’re running Google Ads, you know that data is everything. The more insights you have, the smarter your decisions—and the better your results. That’s why Microsoft Clarity is expanding its Google Ads integration, giving you access to more data columns and enhanced campaign management tools to help you optimize your advertising strategy like never before. If you haven’t learned about this integration, which launched back in January 2025, you can find out more here

More Data, Deeper Insights

With this update, you can now track even more key performance indicators alongside user behavior, all within your Clarity dashboard.

Previously available columns:

  • Intent: Categorizes users based on their engagement levels.
  • Low-intent sessions – Brief visits with minimal engagement.
  • Medium-intent sessions – Moderate engagement with clicks or scrolls toward specific goals.
  • High-intent sessions – Highly engaged users interacting to achieve smart event goals.
  • Sessions: Tracks the total number of user visits to your site.
  • Click-through rate (CTR): See how often users engage with your ads.
  • Cost per click (CPC): Measure the efficiency of your ad spend.
  • Conversion rate (CVR): Track how well clicks turn into meaningful actions.
  • Cost per action (CPA): Understand the cost of each valuable customer action.

Newly available columns:

  • Clicks: Monitor the total number of ad clicks.
  • Conversions: Track completed actions that matter to your business (primary conversions).
  • All conversions: Get a broader view of all conversion types (primary and secondary conversions).
  • Cost: Analyze overall ad spend.
  • Conversion value: Measure the total value generated by primary conversions.
  • All conversions value: Assess the combined value of all tracked conversions (primary and secondary).
  • Target ROAS (Return on Ad Spend): Displays the target return you aim to achieve for every dollar spent.
  • Campaign type: Shows the category of the Google Ads campaign (e.g., Search, Display, Shopping).

With incorporating these newly added data columns into Clarity, you get a fuller view of your ad performance and financial impact. Track target ROAS, total spend, and conversion values to measure efficiency and return, while campaign type data helps you compare strategies across different ad formats. We’re continuously working to add more meaningful data points to bridge the gap between behavioral and advertising insights.

Enhanced Column Management

With the latest update, you now have more control over your Google Ads data. The new “Manage columns” button allows you to customize your dashboard, ensuring you see only the metrics that matter most.

Clicking on “Manage columns” allows you to customize your dashboard with flexible column selection, choosing key data points like sessions, impressions, clicks, cost, and conversions. With drag-and-drop ordering, you can prioritize insights, streamlining analysis and decision-making.

This update makes it easier to analyze, compare, and act on your findings. With greater flexibility in managing your data, you can fine-tune your Google Ads strategy and gain a more comprehensive view of your campaign performance.

Optimize with Confidence

We’re committed to providing advertisers and marketers with the tools they need to make smarter, data-driven decisions. By leveraging these expanded data columns and enhanced management features, you’ll be able to fine-tune your campaigns, reduce wasted spend, and drive better results.
